Armani...

In this next advertisement was published by Armani. It is to for their jean collection. As you can see, there are no jeans or any type of clothes on the model ironically. The model is almost naked. It looks like more of a lingerie ad than a clothing ad. This ad just reminds me of how much of sexual advertising is out there to entice people.

Calvin Klein..

In this first provocative photo, Calvin Klein is advertising their Euphoria line of perfume. This picture is portraying that the perfume is so enticing that the man wants sex. This is clearly preposterous. Any woman with common sense knows that perfume is not going to be the only thing that attracts a man. This ad makes the woman look sexy because of the perfume.

Identity

Being part of a softball team has also helped shape my identity. It has showed me how much perseverance I have. It also showed my leadership skills as I have been elected team captain for the past three years. I love cheering people on and picking up my team when they are down about the outcome of the game. My team has been through many upsets such as losing teammates. In the end, we always come out on top. This was shown this past summer as we came in 4th place at regionals! We were able to come together as a team and make an unforgettable comeback to the team that was 2nd on the east coast. Softball has showed me how determined and energetic of a person I am.

My best friends have also helped shaped my identity. They always know the right things to say to make me feel better. I know I can come to them with anything and everything and they will always have a way to help me through it. Some I have met at the Mount others I have had since I was a child and some others I met unexpectedly in random places. My friends are part of my family. They showed me how to become a better person and have helped me grow up. They are the people that no matter how bad life seems, are going to be there for you, to lean back on, and catch you when you fall. They have helped me through the roughest nights this summer and I do not know what I will do without them in college as most of them live within ten minutes of me. I am sure my phone bill will be off the charts. I know no matter what path I take in life, they will never leave my side.

My grandmother is the one person who has been the most influential in shaping my identity. She has lived with my family and I since I was about 8 years old. Before then, I would have "sleepovers" at her house every other week. She is a person that does not judge. She listens to everything you have to say no matter how shocking or terrible the news may be. She has always taught me that no matter how bad life seems, it can always get worse as she lived through the Great Depression and World War II. However, she also explained to me that if you keep your head up and think positive thoughts, you can overcome any obstacle and become stronger than you ever imagined possible. My mom-mom has been through unimaginable loss and struggles such as my grandfather dying when my mother was only 18, being in a coma for two months and surviving stage 4 malignant melanoma. My grandmom is the strongest person I know and she always keeps me pushing and striving for a better me. I know I would not be the person I am today without my grandmom.
